Indigo is spending her time in a foster home where a wonderful family is showing her what a life in freedom looks like. When Indigo arrived to National Mill Dog Rescue, she was not at all socialized but she is slowly learning how to accept love. While Indigo is hesitant around people, she absolutely loves other dogs and definitely finds comfort in being around them. She is a bit difficult to catch as she still doesnt fully understand that she can trust the people around her. Indigos foster family says that she is super sweet, she loves her foster dad, and she sleeps through the night. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years old; homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
